The Community Action Project, LLC
(TCAP), is a progressive media organization focused on developing training
materials that teach skills for being politically active. We are
headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina and began operations in
April 2006 led by three area entrepreneurs. Our aim is to serve
progressives at the grassroots level of politics. TCAP recently
released its initial DVD product entitled, “Door-to-Door
Canvassing: Engaging the Grassroots.”
TCAP is the culmination of efforts from attorney Jeffrey Marsocci,
training specialist Beth Secosky and production company Myriad
Media. “Each of the three partners is politically active
and committed to progressive causes,” says Marsocci.
“This is a great outlet to use our professional skills to make
our country better.” Marsocci is also the director of the
North Carolina Democratic Party’s all-volunteer Training
Committee.
Secosky, the committee’s deputy
director, also heads the firm Performance Training and
Development. She has been helping train Democrats around the
country since 2004 and is passionate about helping more people become
active at the grassroots level. “Using media
technology is great because it allows us to potentially help thousands
more people become politically active and do so in ways that are proven
to be most effective,” says Secosky.
Myriad Media, an award-winning video production company, has been producing
marketing and educational programming since 1993. “Using the same
best practices we use in the corporate world to educate and inspire
activists is very effective and also incredibly rewarding,” says
Myriad President, Will Feichter. “We need more people to be
politically engaged and that’s what the Community Action Project
is all about.”
